This lovely scarf reproduces a Chantilly lace fan leaf in The Cone Collection, with elements adapted from the piece to create the scarf border.

The Cone sisters, Etta and Claribel, collected more than 300 pieces of lace. In the search for precious laces, Etta led the way, purchasing her first pieces of lace around 1903 while on a European tour. The fan leaf is hand made black Chantilly lace, made up of more than nine styles of lace stitches. It is an exquisite example of the type of traditionally patterned bobbin lace that Etta treasured.
